School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao Hosts Field Day @UP 2025 to Promote Knowledge on “High-Quality Forage Corn Cultivation and Commercial Seed Production”
On April 9, 2025, the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao, organized the Field Day @UP 2025 under the theme “High-Quality Forage Corn Cultivation and Commercial Seed Production” at the Agricultural Learning Center, Ban Tham Subdistrict, Dok Khamtai District, Phayao Province. The event aimed to transfer academic knowledge and agricultural innovations to local communities, as well as to strengthen collaborations between the university and local farmers.
The event was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonyarit Sinkagam, along with faculty members, staff, and students from the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, who worked together to successfully implement the project. Over 70 local farmers from Phayao province participated in the event, all of whom were interested in forage corn production and commercial seed development.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Bamrung Sangkhwao, Deputy Governor of Phayao Province, who emphasized the importance of integrating academic knowledge into agricultural practices to build a strong and sustainable farming sector. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Samer Thanoy, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Wipornpan Nueangmek, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, who participated in the event and visited various learning stations.
Highlights of the event included the following activities and exhibits:
Demonstration plots of new corn varieties “UP 242” and “UP 227” – These are research outputs from the University of Phayao, known for their high yields, disease resistance, and suitability for cultivation in northern Thailand.
Demonstration of high-quality forage corn cultivation – Covering techniques for soil preparation, seed selection, water management, and pest control.
Demonstration of commercial seed production – Providing step-by-step knowledge from seed selection and planting to harvesting and seed storage.
One-on-one consultation sessions – Experts from the university offered personalized advice on best practices for forage corn cultivation and seed production, aiming to improve product standards, market access, and income for local farmers.
To conclude the event, participating farmers were given free high-quality corn seeds to encourage the practical application of what they had learned and to promote commercial-scale production in their communities.
The Field Day @UP initiative serves as a key platform for strengthening the local agricultural sector, particularly in enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Thai forage corn. It exemplifies the power of collaboration between universities, government agencies, and farmers in driving sustainable agricultural development.

คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ม.พะเยา จัดกิจกรรม Field Day @UP 2568 ส่งเสริมองค์ความรู้ "การปลูกข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์คุณภาพและการผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์เพื่อการค้า"
เมื่อวันที่ 9 เมษายน 2568 คณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา จัดกิจกรรม Field Day @UP 2568 ภายใต้หัวข้อ "การปลูกข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์คุณภาพและการผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์เพื่อการค้า" ณ ศูนย์การเรียนรู้การเกษตร ตำบลบ้านถ้ำ อำเภอดอกคำใต้ จังหวัดพะเยา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ทางวิชาการและนวัตกรรมทางการเกษตรสู่ชุมชน และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยกับเกษตรกรในพื้นที่
การจัดงานในครั้งนี้นำโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.บุญฤทธิ์ สินค้างาม พร้อมด้วยคณาจารย์ บุคลากร และนิสิตจากคณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ที่ร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนโครงการดังกล่าวให้เกิดผลอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม โดยมี เกษตรกรในพื้นที่จังหวัดพะเยาเข้าร่วมกว่า 70 คน ซึ่งล้วนแต่เป็นผู้สนใจด้านการผลิตข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์และเมล็ดพันธุ์เพื่อการค้า
ภายในงาน ได้รับเกียรติจาก นายบำรุง สังข์ขาว รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพะเยา เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน พร้อมกล่าวถึงความสำคัญของการบูรณาการความรู้จากภาคการศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมภาคการเกษตรให้เข้มแข็งและยั่งยืน และยังได้รับเกียรติจาก ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.เสมอ ถาน้อย รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ร่วมด้วย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิพรพรรณ์ เนื่องเม็ก คณบดีคณะเกษตรศาสตร์และทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมและเยี่ยมชมฐานการเรียนรู้ต่างๆ ภายในงาน
กิจกรรมภายในงานประกอบด้วยฐานการเรียนรู้และนิทรรศการต่างๆ ดังนี้:
ชมแปลงสาธิตข้าวโพดพันธุ์ใหม่ "UP 242 และ UP 227" ซึ่งเป็นผลงานวิจัยจากมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ที่มีลักษณะเด่นด้านผลผลิตสูง ทนทานต่อโรค และเหมาะสมกับสภาพพื้นที่ภาคเหนือ
แปลงสาธิตการปลูกข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์คุณภาพ โดยเน้นเทคนิคการเตรียมดิน การเลือกพันธุ์ การจัดการน้ำ และการป้องกันศัตรูพืช
แปลงสาธิตการผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์เพื่อการค้า ให้ความรู้ตั้งแต่กระบวนการคัดเลือกพันธุ์ การปลูก การเก็บเกี่ยว และการจัดเก็บเมล็ดพันธุ์
การให้คำปรึกษาแบบครบวงจร โดยทีมอาจารย์และผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากมหาวิทยาลัย ให้คำแนะนำแบบตัวต่อตัวเกี่ยวกับการปลูกข้าวโพดและการผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์ที่ได้มาตรฐาน เพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสทางการตลาดและสร้างรายได้ให้แก่เกษตรกร
ในช่วงท้ายของกิจกรรม มีการมอบ เมล็ดพันธุ์ข้าวโพดคุณภาพดี ให้แก่เกษตรกรผู้เข้าร่วมงาน เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมให้เกิดการนำความรู้ไปประยุกต์ใช้จริงในพื้นที่ และต่อยอดสู่การผลิตในเชิงพาณิชย์
โครงการ Field Day @UP ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมสำคัญในการสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้กับภาคการเกษตรในท้องถิ่น โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการยกระดับข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์ของไทยให้มีคุณภาพเทียบเท่าระดับสากล ผ่านความร่วมมือระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัย หน่วยงานรัฐ และเกษตรกรอย่างใกล้ชิด
