Assoc. Prof. Dr. Choke Sorachakula and Dr. Khanchai Danmek from the program of Agricultural Technology, School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao, participated in a training and knowledge transfer program as part of the Low-Cost Fermented Animal Feed Production for Beef and Dairy Cattle at the Community Feed Center Project (Project Code: P2350887). This project is funded by the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) for the 2024 fiscal year and has a one-year implementation period. The primary goal is to transfer knowledge on low-cost fermented livestock feed production to farmers, helping them reduce feed costs, enhance feed security at the community level, and extend this knowledge to a wider network of farmers.
The project is being implemented in Rayong provinces, utilizing agricultural waste materials that are currently abundant, such as durian peels in Rayong. These materials will be used to produce fermented animal feed with the aid of high-efficiency microbial inoculants developed through research. The goal is to create feed that is more cost-effective while enhancing nutritional value in both roughage and concentrate feeds for beef and dairy cattle.
The project follows the Participatory Action Research (PAR) model, involving farmers in every step—from gathering opinions and assessing their needs to technology transfer through training sessions and demonstrations on low-cost fermented animal feed production for farmer groups and livestock professionals in target areas. A key objective of the project is the establishment of "Community Feed Centers", which will serve as models for the sustainable production and utilization of low-cost fermented animal feed.

รศ.ดร.โชค โสรัจกุล และ ดร.ขรรค์ชัย ดั้นเมฆ จากสาขาเทคโนโลยีการเกษตร มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ได้เข้าร่วมการอบรมและถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ใน โครงการการผลิตอาหารสัตว์หมักต้นทุนต่ำเพื่อเลี้ยงโคเนื้อ-โคนม ในระดับศูนย์อาหารสัตว์ของชุมชน รหัสโครงการ P2350887 ซึ่งได้รับทุนสนับสนุนจาก สำนักงานพัฒนาการวิจัยการเกษตร (องค์การมหาชน) ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2567 โครงการนี้มีระยะเวลาดำเนินการ 1 ปี โดยมุ่งเน้นการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ด้านการผลิตอาหารสัตว์หมักต้นทุนต่ำให้แก่เกษตรกร เพื่อช่วยลดต้นทุนค่าอาหารสัตว์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม เสริมสร้างความมั่นคงด้านอาหารสัตว์ในระดับชุมชน และขยายองค์ความรู้สู่เกษตรกรในวงกว้าง
พื้นที่ดำเนินโครงการ ได้แก่ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่และจังหวัดระยอง โดยใช้วัตถุดิบทางการเกษตรเหลือทิ้งที่มีปริมาณมากในปัจจุบัน เช่น เปลือกทุเรียน ซึ่งพบมากในจังหวัดระยอง วัตถุดิบเหล่านี้จะถูกนำมาใช้ในการผลิตอาหารสัตว์หมักด้วย หัวเชื้อจุลินทรีย์ประสิทธิภาพสูง จากผลงานวิจัย เพื่อให้ได้อาหารสัตว์ที่ มีต้นทุนต่ำลง แต่ มีคุณค่าทางโภชนาการสูงขึ้น ทั้งในส่วนของอาหารหยาบและอาหารข้น สำหรับเลี้ยงโคเนื้อและโคนม
โครงการนี้ดำเนินงานในรูปแบบ Participatory Action Research (PAR) โดยให้เกษตรกรมีส่วนร่วมในทุกขั้นตอน ตั้งแต่การระดมความคิดเห็น ศึกษาความต้องการของเกษตรกรในพื้นที่ จนถึงการถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีผ่านการ ฝึกอบรมและสาธิตการผลิตอาหารสัตว์หมักต้นทุนต่ำ ให้กับกลุ่มเกษตรกรและบุคลากรด้านปศุสัตว์ในแต่ละพื้นที่เป้าหมายสำคัญคือการสร้าง "ศูนย์อาหารสัตว์ของชุมชน" ซึ่งจะเป็นต้นแบบในการผลิตและใช้ประโยชน์จากอาหารสัตว์หมักต้นทุนต่ำอย่างยั่งยืน
