Mission of the School
The Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Phayao University has the mission to produce qualified and standardized human resources, deliver education that focuses on the development of learners at all stages in an integrated manner, generate research and innovations that address societal needs and can be practically applied, and strengthen communities, society, and the nation. The faculty has outlined five key missions that align with the 2018 Higher Education Standards, as follows:
1.Produce Thai People for the 21st Century
Produce graduates with high quality, knowledge, and abilities, with English communication skills, equipped with skills that meet the labor market demands, who continuously learn and develop themselves, live with ethics, adapt to an ever-changing society, possess leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and management skills, and are capable of entrepreneurship. The curriculum is modern, flexible, and responsive to labor market needs and emerging industries. The faculty ensures high-quality teaching by adhering to the Professional Standard Framework (PSF) and incorporates modern ideas and skills. The education process is reformed with the use of advanced technology, focusing on skill-based learning and practical experience alongside employers. The management system builds trust among students and is trusted by the community and society. The educational system supports and addresses local educational development needs, with clear evaluation and accountability at every level, aiming for internationalization.
2.Research and Innovation for Commercial Benefits
Develop research to create new knowledge that can be disseminated and innovated, advancing to create innovations that benefit communities, society, and industries for sustainable growth. This research aims to address poverty, strengthen communities, and enhance the country's global competitiveness. Research will focus on addressing the needs of communities, society, and the nation (demand-side), promoting the dissemination and application of research and innovations in collaboration with stakeholders in industries, services, and agriculture to create economic benefits. This will contribute to increasing income and technology development in line with the Thailand 4.0 policy.
3.Academic Services to Strengthen Communities and Society
Disseminate agricultural knowledge to develop communities and society, improve education, generate income, and alleviate the problems of communities and society. This will lead to better quality of life, a stronger and more stable society, overcoming inequality, and creating a happy society.
4.Preserve Local Arts and Culture for Thai Identity
Maintain national arts and culture, promote conservation, restoration, continuation, and development of arts and culture, as well as the preservation of natural resources and the environment within and outside the university. The faculty aims to harmonize with nature, promoting eco-friendly development, applying creative uses of natural resources, and managing them with advanced, systematic technology.
5.Modern Governance with Good Governance and Collaborative Learning
Manage people and operations transparently, fairly, and accountably to achieve the organization's goals, quality, and the well-being of personnel. Provide opportunities for stakeholders to participate, understand, and express opinions in operations to ensure a participatory process. Raise awareness and understanding of policies and goals related to the faculty's missions, be proactive in problem-solving together, and develop the organization effectively. Establish a management system based on credible data to ensure efficient and impactful operations.
